The Ala-Bye Ski Club was founded by a group enthusiastic skiers, many of whom were WW II veterans, in the late 1940s. A small, cozy lodge was constructed near the Peter Limmer boot factory in Intervale, NH. The intent of the club was to provide skiing families with a comfortable but affordable place to stay while enjoying the burgeoning winter sport, as well as all of the summer activities offered in the Mt. Washington Valley area. The Ala-Bye has been expanded and modernized through the years. The founders never envisioned members returning to the club to go online with a wireless connection “Apres Ski”. But the purpose of the club, to make family skiing affordable, has remained unchanged.
The Ala-Bye is a member of the Eastern Inter-club Ski League (EICSL). Through this affiliation with other valley clubs, we enjoy discounts at local ski areas and businesses, and are welcome at a full schedule of summer and winter social events at EICSL clubs.
